Fairfield County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) "Deputy Dog of the Month" Program

The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) is proud to be partnering with the Fairfield County Animal Control and Adoption Center (FCAAC) to help find loving homes for the animals at the Fairfield County’s Adoption Center. Every month, the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office will be “deputizing” one of the many pets at the Fairfield County Animal Control and Adoption Center to try to help find this "deputy" dog a loving home. Sheriff Montgomery believes that we should all do “our part” to help find safe homes for all of these special, loving animals.
Please spread the word and share posts from FCSO and FCAAC to your social media pages!

If you are interested in adopting the dog of the month, or any of the other animals at the FCAC, please contact an FCAC staff member at (803) 815-0805. You can visit their facility online (links below), email the shelter at [email protected], or visit them at their physical address: 1678 US Hwy 321 Business North, Winnsboro, SC 29180.

Fairfield County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) Community Activities & Services

Crime Watch: Crime Watch meetings keep neighborhoods and communities safer by informing attendees of crimes occurring in their area. Fairfield County COPs work with those in local communities and neighborhoods to establish crime watch meetings and coordinate obtaining crime watch signs. community.

Kids Camp: The FCSO's annual Kids’ Camp is held in June and is a week-long adventure for children ages 8-13. Attendees participate in different activities that help them learn about different law enforcement agencies such as the Department of Natural Resources, Department of Public Safety, SLED, and more. Speakers from these emergency services agencies share about their duties and teach the kids about their various roles and functions in our community.

Home Alone Program: The FCSO's Home Alone program falls under our Community Oriented Policing Program. When someone in our county is living alone and has no family close by to check on them, we add them to our list and check on them periodically to make sure they’re safe and able to take care of themselves.

Project Lifesaver: The primary mission of Project Lifesaver is to provide timely response to save lives and reduce potential injury for adults and children who wander due to Alzheimer’s, autism, or other related conditions or disorders.

The task of searching for wandering or lost individuals is a growing and serious responsibility. Without effective procedures and equipment, searches can involve multiple agencies, hundreds of officers, countless hours, and thousands of dollars. More importantly, because time is of the essence, every minute lost increases the risk of a tragic outcome.

If you are interested in learning more about this program, please contact Deputy Dwayne Robinson at [email protected] or (803) 635-4141.

Property Checks: If any of our residents contact us when leaving for vacation, we can conduct property checks while they’re away. All they have to do is call our office and provide some information. We then do our best to keep your property safe while you’re away. To speed things along when you call, please have the following information available:

  • The dates you will be gone.
  • Owner of the property with phone number and address.
  • Emergency contact person with phone number and address.
  • Alarm system and company if any.
  • Any lights that will be left on at the location.
  • Any vehicles that will be left at the location.
  • Anyone else who will be checking the property (name and vehicle info).
